Over the past few years, K-Electric’s efforts have received formal commendation in the form of a number of awards and accolades. These reinforce the organisation’s determination to continue its progress towards meeting the city’s power needs in a sustainable manner. K-Electric’s recent awards and achievements in various areas include:
- K-Electric secured the 1st position in the category of “Large National Companies” at the 5th Employer of the Year Awards 2016 organised by the Employer’s Federation of Pakistan.
- KE has won the Diversity and Inclusion award in the Proactive category at the Global Diversity & Inclusion Benchmarks Conference (GDIC) 2017.
- Power Utility of the Year at the Asian Power Awards 2015
- Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) Achievement Award in 2013 for introducing efficient and effective policies to overcome the power crisis in the city.
- ISO-9001 certification granted to K-Electric’s Korangi Combined Cycle Power Plant.
- K-Electric’s flagship Bin Qasim Power Station (BQPS)-II became first Pakistani power plant to achieve ISO 50001 energy management system certification, awarded by ISO-accredited body Bureau Veritas Pakistan after due process alignment and auditing.
- ISO 9001-2008 certificate for its SITE Integrated Business Centre for their improved performance and operations.
- K-Electric has won ‘Best Social Media Influencer Communications’ Award at Pakistan Digi Awards 2019
- Awarded ‘Best Digital Media Team’ of Pakistan at Pakistan Digi Awards 2018
- Won ‘Best Digital Marketing Communication (Social Media)’ Award at Pakistan Digi Awards 2017
- Winner of ‘Best Use of Creativity / Innovation / Out of the Box’ Award at Pakistan Digi Awards 2017
- K-Electric has won the Best Use of Technology Award in the ‘Best Customer Innovation’ category at the Genesys G-Summit Middle East 2017 held in Dubai
- JCR-VIS Credit Rating Co. Ltd. upgraded the entity rating of K-Electric from ‘A+/A-2’ to ‘AA/A-1’.
- FT/IFC Transformational Business Award for exceptional achievement in Project Finance – Energy.
- A member of staff won the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Achievement Award – Individual.
- Gold Employer Status – ACCA – for K-Electric.
- Approved Training Employers – Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).
- South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) Best Presented Annual Report Award for the second consecutive year. The award was conferred to KE after a thorough evaluation administered by the SAFA Committee for Improvement in Transparency, Accountability and Governance.
- Won Best Environment, Health & Safety initiatives award at The Climate Change Summit 2019
- Environmental Risk Assessments (Impact Assessment) Award & Health and Safety Risk Assessment and Control Award at the International Summit for Environment, Health, Safety and Security 2017 for the 3rd consecutive year.
- OHSAS certification 18001-2007 for all generating stations.
- Fire and Safety Award 2017 for the 6th consecutive year, awarded by National Forum for Environment & Health (NFEH) and Fire Protection Association of Pakistan (FPAP).
- 2016 National Fire and Safety Award from the National Forum for Environment and Health (NFEH) for the 5th consecutive year.
- 12th Annual Environment Excellence Award 2015 for the 7th consecutive year by NFEH.
- 3rd Position for Best Safety Practices, awarded by Employers Federation of Pakistan in collaboration with ILO, in the category of Oil, Gas and Energy held in 2014.
- K-Electric’s Environmental Management System is ISO-14001 compliant, the international standard for environmental management.
- CSR Award for flagship community development Project Ujala during International CSR Summit & Awards 2018
- Sustainability Report 2014 given the Best Publication award at the 6th International Corporate Social Responsibility Summit organised by The Professionals Network.
- 3rd consecutive CSR Business Excellence Award by the National Forum for Environment and Health (NFEH) in collaboration with the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) and the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) at the 7th International CSR Summit.
- CSR Award for 2014 from NFEH in recognition of the utility’s support to the education and youth platforms.
- Recognised for its ‘Outstanding Corporate Volunteerism’ by INJAZ Pakistan, over KE’s involvement in the professional skills-based mentoring programs.
