K-Electric (KE) defeated Ashraf Sugar Mills (ASM) with a score of 4–0 in their fourth match of the Pakistan Premier League (PPL) held in Multan.
KE’s team Captain Muhammad Rasool was in inspired form as he scored a brace in the 11th and 79th minutes. The other goals were scored by Murtaza Hussain in the 48th minute and to round off an utterly dominating display, Abdul Rehman breached the ASM defense to score a deserved fourth goal in the 90th minute.
The first half ended with just one goal being scored by KE, but the flood-gates opened as the match wore on and ASM were put to the sword with lethal finishing from the KE players. ASM tried their best to threaten the KE goal but sound defending and a strong overall game plan from KE prevented ASM from scoring.
Post-match, Rasool hailed his team and said, “To score these goals on a grand stage such as the PPL is encouraging for me – but it would not have been possible without the preparation and tactical plan followed by my team-mates.”
K-Electric FC will now play their next game against Navy on the 14th of October, in Multan as well.
The Pakistan Premier League is Pakistan’s professional league for men’s association of football clubs. This tournament is at the top of the Pakistan football league system and it is the country’s primary football competition. It was last held in 2014-2015, with KE winning the title then.
