Karachi – October 18, 2016: K-Electric’s Sustainability team partnered with PAF Montessori, Malir Cantonment to plant over 200 trees, enhance awareness of personal hygiene and help cultivate healthier lifestyle habits among school students. KE’s team also presented wall mounted posters pertaining to health, safety and environment to be placed throughout the school and also taught students how to plant a tree and take care of it during its lifecycle.
According to KE spokesperson, “To emphasize the importance of health, safety and environment in cultivating the best habits in children, we are delighted to partner with PAF Montessori today. The aim is to instill in students concepts of good lifestyle and hygiene habits that contribute to protection of the environment. As a socially responsible organization, we are firmly committed to corporate citizenship, aiding local community development and we will continue our efforts to help our next generation foster appropriate and positive habits that will benefit their health and growth in the long run.”
Arooma Fakhar, Principal, PAF Montessori thanked KE for the contribution and said “Teaching children about the importance of trees and valuing the environment, create a positive impact on their mind right since a young age and we look forward for collaborating with KE for more such initiatives in the future.”
The utility reaches around 3.5 million lives annually with social partnership initiatives with key major healthcare, educational, and welfare organizations besides creating various powerful platforms to engage the youth in healthy activities be it sporting events, providing them professional exposure and encouraging students’ initiatives. The utility has also rolled out a flagship community development project ‘Ujala’ with an estimated investment of PKR 5 billion to empower 1 million lives in 200 communities by June 2017.
