KARACHI, May 5: K-Electric has been recognised for its “Outstanding Corporate Volunteerism” by INJAZ Pakistan over KE’s involvement in the pilot phase of INJAZ project with a number of KE employees volunteering to take part in the professional skills based mentoring programs.
In a press statement released earlier, K-Electric added that KE’s role as a responsible corporate citizen was appreciated at a ceremony titled ‘Celebrating Volunteerism’ hosted by INJAZ Pakistan. The purpose of the event was to bring together the individuals and organizations that have contributed to the success of INJAZ Pakistan through volunteering in their different mentoring programs for students.
Founded in 2012, INJAZ Pakistan, an initiative and incubatee of the Aman Foundation, works to bridge the gap between the educational field and the market place through co-curricular programs that empower the youth. INJAZ Pakistan is a member of Junior Achievement Worldwide, the world’s largest non-profit business education organization.
Ms. Azra Maqsood, Executive Director, INJAZ Pakistan, spoke about the organization’s journey over the last two years and about the vital role that the organizations including K-Electric and individuals have played. She highlighted the importance of the participation of corporate sector in the INJAZ initiative.
Awards were handed out for different categories to individuals and organizations where KE was recognized for ‘Outstanding Corporate Volunteerism.
