As per details an FIR (No 38) was registered on August 27, 2009 by the KESC police under Section 39 of the Electricity Act against the users and influential owners of the school, Mr and Mrs Tariq Jameel.
The KESC team had found that electricity was allegedly being used through an illegal connection at the L`ecole School for Advanced Studies, located on Khayaban-i-Shaheen, in Defence Phase VIII. The school involved in theft and the total connected load stood at 132kw. Upon inspection by the KESC team back in 2009, an old ‘Fake Meter’ was being used which the power utility had no record of. KESC had imposed a penalty of Rs.6 million on the school due to this act. The KESC team immediately had the connection disconnected and the underground cable which was almost 190 feet long was impounded as evidence.
