Karachi, 3rd January 2017: Keeping in line with its commitment to nurture and develop youth for sports, K-Electric has collaborated with the Karachi Hockey Association for the U-14 & U-16 Youth Hockey League. K-Electric recently concluded the U-16 Women’s Boxing Tournament in Karachi in order to revive and promote the Sport of Boxing especially in young women representing different areas of the city, some of them under-privileged.
The Youth Hockey League had 8 teams participating in it, all named after famous Olympians that have represented the Green Shirts in Field Hockey. Held at the Customs Sports Complex in Karachi, the League kicked off on the 30th of December 2016 and will conclude today (3rd of January).
K-Electric Spokesperson shared, ‘K-Electric is committed to the nurture and develop our youth and there is no better platform than Sports. We hope this collaboration will contribute to the revival of Hockey in our country and attract youth to this remarkable sport.”
As part of its vision KE has created different platforms to engage the youth in Sports. The utility has kept its focus on reviving the Sport of Boxing and now Field Hockey while also discovering outstanding talent in football and cricket, many of whom now playing at national and international levels.
